Panel Discussion on Hong Kong Platform at Airfinance Journal Asia Pacific 2019

On 30th October 2019, Airfinance Journal Asia Pacific held a panel discussion on Hong Kong's aircraft leasing platform at Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong. Moderated by Invest Hong Kong, panelists from the aircraft leasing companies and industry players in Hong Kong, including NWS Holdings Ltd, Haitong UT Leasing HK Ltd, Nordics Aviation Capital, GTLK Asia Ltd and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, joined the discussion and shared their experience in using the Hong Kong platform.

The panelists generally expected there would be an increasing number of deals using the Hong Kong platform in tandem with the growth in demand for aircraft in the Mainland and the region. "The position of Hong Kong will be enhanced with the possible collaboration with Tianjin platform which will generate more lease and sub-lease activities." said Ms Carine Truong, Director of Aviation of NWS Holdings Ltd.  Mr Andy Solem, Managing Director of Nordic Aviation Capital said, "Hong Kong is an ideal place to conduct marketing activities, given its central location in Asia as well as its proximity to China."  The panelists added that aircraft leasing companies would  tap the business potential by capitalising on different tax incentives offered by the HKSAR Government.

The panel discussion also provided first-hand information on the latest development and performance of the aircraft leasing industry in Hong Kong.
